Dungeons of Alethrion Lore

A cosmic library has long been protected by fairies against wicked villains and monsters. A powerful sorcerer sought after the library for a long time in order to access the secret knowledge it contained. The fairies perceived that the sorcerer’s intentions were not pure and closed off the library to him. But they underestimated his power. The sorcerer broke his way into the library with brute force, caged the fairies, and made the library his new domain.

With the secret cosmic knowledge, he learned about the spirits and soul transferring abilities to make himself the Gargoyle body. At that point he became what we now know as the Elder Gargoyle. He then learned to control spacetime to make his domain inaccessible from the outside. His only wish was to isolate himself to learn everything the library had to offer, even if it would have taken centuries.

But one fairy escaped before she could be caged and warned adventurers all over the world that her kind was in danger. The heroes of the Ever Watching Eye’s guild tried to access the library through the bounty teleportation magic and succeeded. But those who ventured in were no match for the Elder Gargoyle and were defeated with little effort. The Gargoyle, now aware that people from the outside could access his domain, used dimensional magic to connect dangerous places from all across the world. He created a maddening perilous dungeon that only the strongest and bravest would dare take down.

The wisps are a result of the Gargoyle’s experiments with spirit caging. But some of them managed to break free from their master’s control and joined together creating a secret society within the dungeon. Now, those free wisps act as shopkeepers for the adventurers during their journey.

The fairy that escaped allowed the adventurers to learn about the forbidden art of time traveling, allowing heroes from other eras to join the battle and help take down the Elder Gargoyle.

 FAQs

  • If the floor number ends in a 4, it’s a Queen Spider boss room. If it ends in a 5, it’s a treasure room. If it ends in a 0, it’s an Elder Gargoyle boss floor. Later floors have a chance to spawn in a treasure exit which takes you to a bonus room full of rare treasures.

The rest of the floors are normal zombie or library dungeons.

  • Once you have a tame item, go near a wild animal and use the item button to throw it to them. If you’re nearby it’ll automatically go to the closest animal. Regular cats and dogs like zombie meats. The Blaster Wolf likes magic fruit.
